Princess * lived in a large castle. Outside, there was a dragon who gave her such a hassle!

He wouldn't let her outside to play. Princess * decided this would stop today!

Princess * walked right up to him and said, "Let me out, I don't like it inside with only my bed!"

"I would," replied the dragon. "But your knight hasn't arrived. It's not my fault you are being deprived."

Princess * decided to rescue herself. She stomped inside to get something from the shelf.

Back outside she went. She would win, 100 percent!

"I don't need a prince to rescue me!" Having said that, she climbed the tallest tree.

With her she had a paper from the king. It was tied with a pretty string.

"Read the law, we are through. No more prince needed, it is true."

The dragon then asked, "Now what shall I do?"

"I'm out of a job, no place to go." He was filled with woe.

"Dear dragon, don't be sad. I'll think of something, then you'll be glad."

Around the bend came the knight in shining armor, riding a horse that belonged to the farmer.

The princess had a brilliant plan! Into the dragons ear the whispering began.

The dragon nodded his head. "This is the best idea!" he said.

Into the sky the dragon flew. He knew exactly what to do.

Down he swooped picking up the knight. The prince yelled, "Hey, this isn't right!"

Dragon put him in the tower. From below, Princess * waved with a flower.

The prince looked down at her quite sour.

Now he'd have to wait. All because he was very late.
